Sim, é Design. E quem exerce a atividade são os Designers. Geralmente há bastante confusão com os termos.
Não há muito tempo atrás, cada vez que ouvia rádio no carro, passava um anúncio sobre uma marca até bem-conceituada de automóveis que me tirava do sério. Pelo meio de todas as inovações fantásticas, com tecnologias do futuro, sistemas de segurança incríveis e preocupações ambientais, eles alegavam ter, e passo a citar: “um Designer Harmonioso”. À primeira pensei ter ouvido mal, mas era mesmo isto que eles diziam: “um Designer Harmonioso”. Uau, pensei. Estamos mesmo a viver uma época maravilhosa. E que raio de emprego é esse, amigo? Fazes parte do carro? Pelo menos é harmonioso… há designers mais complicados que outros.
Bem, ironias à parte, isto é apenas um exemplo sobre esta confusão com os termos. Aceito-a facilmente quando a ouço por parte da minha avó – a quem já atribuo valor pelo esforço em dizer mais do que “coisas no computador” -, mas marcas com este gabarito, já é outra história.
O problema parte exatamente da falta de esclarecimento.
Então… O que é Design?
Design, um conceito vulgarmente associado a “fazer coisas bonitas”, no entanto está mais relacionado com uma metodologia, um projeto. Trata-se de uma atitude racional sobre o ato criativo. O próprio conceito de “desenho”, no Renascimento, ganhou um significado muito próprio, tornando-se numa atividade ao serviço de conhecer melhor o mundo.
Está presente em tudo o que nos rodeia, tudo o que consumimos e utilizamos. Pode-se mesmo dizer que tem um papel fundamental na sociedade, embora passe bastante despercebido e não seja uma área propriamente valorizada. Mas cada vez que lava os dentes, ou utiliza o seu smartphone, ou abre um pacote de bolachas, há design e designers envolvidos.
É pensar em soluções simples e intuitivas para os problemas. Deve ser útil, agradável e coerente com a sua aplicação. Ou seja, é um projeto, um plano entre o problema e a solução e tem em conta diversos aspetos como o público-alvo e questões culturais, entre outros. Quer seja para ajudar na comunicação ou melhorar a experiência do utilizador, o Design deve também estar presente na estratégia de empresas e o reconhecimento da sua importância tem vindo a crescer.
Importante e necessário.
A quantidade de produtos e serviços lançados todos os dias obrigam as marcas a estabelecer estratégias que seduzam e criem relações com os consumidores, de modo a garantir sucesso no mercado. O panorama digital está em constante mutação e evolução, sendo que é importante desenvolver imagens gráficas que comuniquem corretamente os princípios e visão das marcas, sem esquecer o modo como são interpretados pelos consumidores.
A importância do Design excede os limites do pensamento retrógrado que o associa a estético e visual. Ele deve também estar associado a conceitos como: identificação, estratégia de negócio, inovação, instrução, promoção, comunicação, entre tantos outros.
Assim, os designers têm vindo a marcar posição e a sua presença torna-se cada vez mais importante nas diversas etapas de organização empresarial. Através de projetos – de design – devem-se criar soluções criativas, visuais, interativas, digitais e palpáveis. Soluções que tenham o poder de tornar um mero observador, num possível cliente.
